The latest grapevine report on Bikecrash Kid - he's awake and sitting up. This is wonderful news! His eventual neurological status is as yet unknown, and will probably take a while to establish, but I have whaddyacallit - guarded optimism.

That's great news! Awake and sitting up sounds much better than the last time you saw him--vomiting and grey and moaning on the ground.
I hope you will be able to find out more. The angels were watching over this kid.
I called again yesterday but got the message machine (hope they weren't up on the mountain for someone else!) I'll call again next week.
Meanwhile I did add a couple pictures on my original post. Just got 'em from Sheila, who was up there helping too. Don't worry; nobody knew she was taking them. She held her camera low and there was lightning all around so the flashes went unnoticed. She's a compulsive documenter by her own admission. The pics don't clearly portray the drama of the situation or the weather, but they're interesting anyway.
